Fingers would be pushed through his hair as the young man stepped out of the shuttle. He pulled on the hem of his coat, attempting to find himself more comfortable in it. He hated dress clothes, but apparently they were required for the event. His fit him well enough, they were slightly big as they had once belonged to his elder brother, but it was hardly noticeable, and at least it made them slightly more bearable. Why were formal clothes even required? It seemed like a silly requirement to him. They had to dress to the school’s standards every other day, and while he knew that some people liked to get dressed up, other people didn’t. Surely it would have been better to just let people wear whatever. His ears twitched slightly as he walked toward the ballroom. He could hear the music slightly and he knew there would be a throng dancers in the center of the room. The tempo would likely change, some slower songs to appease couples and maybe some fast songs so people could hump each other’s legs in the way that they liked to – maybe. He didn’t know. This was his first year at Blackwood, so he had never attended before. It might be that the whole event would be stiff and formal. Either way, he doubted he would be dancing. He had no one to dance with, firstly, and secondly he wasn’t very interested in it. Eh, he probably would if someone asked. Maybe. Not if they were girl.He pulled open the door to the ballroom and stepped in. Like he had predicted, there were some people in the center of the room dancing. He didn’t focus on them for too long, though. He was hungry, so he made as much of a beeline as he could manage toward the food. Of course, he was having to dodge people and he couldn’t just walk right through the center of the room either, so the walk took longer than he would have liked. Either way, once he reached the food, his orange eyes scanned it eagerly. Rather than going for something fancier, he grabbed a slice of pizza and quickly downed it.It was then that he noticed the drink options. Punch. Different flavors of punch, but punch all the same. He was sure there would be bottled water somewhere, but where? The peppers on the pizza had left his mouth burning, and he was getting rather desperate. Which would have been the only reason that he moved forward and poured himself some orange punch. He took a large mouthful of it and swallowed, though the disgust at the sweetness was easily read on his features. “Blech!” He exclaimed, holding the glass out from his body as if that would get rid of the taste in his mouth.

552 words here he goes! All of these cuts and bruises that will fade away
"Party, party," he said to himself as he looked at the mirror. today, he needed to get things started and revved up! the black haired male looked over himself, making sure his hair was combed and his teeth cleaned appropriately. finally he could get out of this small town and explore the world! no more beating a bush and telling it he'll be the best! Adrian looked over his suit again, making sure he didn't look ridiculous on the day of a party, or, opening- something like that!
The boy himself was sure he would make new friends again, just like he did in the previous years of when he attended Blackwood Academy. in all honesty, the male thought there would be new people to look at, especially transfer students or maybe freshmen's to pick on! checking himself one last time before hitting off towards the night, the male placed the clip in his hair, making sure the left side of his face was not covered. I knew I should have cut my hair before the school starts again, he looked at his bangs for a while, before shaking his head. Too late, he needed to leave. time for an event, which, hopefully wouldn't suck.
"Shh, you're not supposed to talk now," adrian hushed to a student, who was standing behind him. in all, adrian needed to keep his facade up long enough so he could make an acquaintance. someone he could play shogi or even battleships with! in all, he felt lonely, this was going to be his last year here in Blackwood and in all his previous years, he would always find someone who was suitable enough for being friends. a pal he could rely on to just fool around in school with, go to the pet shop and work part time at some place or another.
Hmm, last year was that christopher kid, then it was Angelina girl, and then it was Derek. He pondered on the idea, of the "friends" he made, Derek was the only one who appears to be in school, who knows where Angelina and Christopher went, it didn't bother him. upon him entering the ballroom, he smiled widely. "Wow, this place is the same as ever," he chuckled as he looked about as he stride in, with his hands in his pockets. feeling slightly parched, the male made his way over to the punch table. his eyes contemplating on which drink to choose. sometimes, if he chose correctly, he would often choose a drink with a lot of sugar. eyeing the purple liquid, adrian shrugged his shoulders and poured himself a cup. this is sickly sweet, they're planning to poison us this early in the year?
he finished the content in his cup, at the sound of disapproval and disgust, the male looked over his shoulder to see a brunette haired boy hold his cup away from him. that sucks for him, well, might as well get some water instead of this. as if his pockets were huge enough, adrian pulled out a small bottled water and made his way towards the male. "too sweet right?" he sported a smile. "yeah, it's best to bring in a small bottled of water for these functions." He held the bottled water in front of the male.

The look of disgust continued to express itself onto the boy’s features even after the liquid had been swallowed down. Moderately sweet things were bad enough, but it was almost like whoever made the punch had wanted to rot everyone’s teeth out. He ran his tongue over his teeth and swallowed once again, but he could still taste the punch on the back of his throat. How could anyone stand to drink it? Even if they liked sweet stuff? Really, it should have been too much for anyone. A lot of the cups seemed to be missing, though, which hinted to him that he was one of the few people who seemed to have a problem with the punch. He sighed softly and was about to resign himself to the fate of having that aftertaste for the rest of the night when the other male approached him. He raised his eyebrows slightly in surprise. He hadn’t exactly expected to be approached by anyone, but the water was definitely a pleasant surprise. He took it from the dark-haired male’s hand eagerly, placing his cup off to the side as he unscrewed the cap and took several large gulps of it. He sighed thereafter, yes, that was much better. He tongued the inside of his cheek a bit before he screwed the cap back on and gave the older boy a warm smile. “Yeah, it’s ridiculous.” He stated, rubbing the back of his head as he laughed a bit. “This is my first time coming to one of these things, so I didn’t know.” He explained, his tones continuing to be warm and friendly throughout. In hindsight he probably should have questioned Cal about it before he came, but hindsight was 20/20 as they say. Thereafter he allowed himself to get a better look at the male who had more or less just saved him as far as he was concerned. He had to be older, since he seemed to know what was going on. The first thing he noted was that the raven-haired man was a lot taller than him. He was pretty used to that, though. He found himself wondering just how much older the other might be. He looked like he could be almost Cal’s age, really. He almost asked about it, but then he thought better of it. He couldn’t make all of his conversations about Cal, no matter how much he wanted to. “Thank you, though, I don’t know what I would have done if I’d been stuck with that taste in my mouth all night.” His nose curled slightly just at the thought. “My name is Kennedy, by the way.” The redhead introduced himself, extending his free hand for the dark-haired male to shake with another wide grin.
