PERSONALITY |
POSITIVE Romantic Ezra is a very romantic person. If he has a girlfriend or a boyfriend he pulls out all the stops for them – flowers, dates, presents, sweet gestures. He believes everyone deserves to the spoiled, but he does have very idealized thoughts on love. He feels like people should be loyal, and therefore he would never date more than one person at a time. He hates fighting with his significant other, and basically thinks things should fall into place naturally if they’re meant to be. Kind Ezra is exceedingly kind to everyone around him. He’s the kind of person who will be late for class if he sees someone drop their books because he’s going to stop and help them out. He tends to stick his nose where it doesn’t belong, and he can’t stand to see someone distressed – it doesn’t matter if they’re his friend or not. Fearless There isn’t very much that scares Ezra, in fact, most situations that would scare other people seem to wake him up. He loves chasing danger and thrills. He would willingly jump off a cliff into the ocean or go skydiving. He’s not afraid to pick fights with people who are bigger than him, and he isn’t intimidated by much. Reliable If Ezra says he’s going to do something or he’s going to be somewhere by a specific time you better believe he will make it happen somehow. If he doesn’t show up for a predetermined date something awful probably happened to him. He always turns his homework in on time, and he always keeps his promises. Even at the expense of his own health or happiness. Hard Working Ezra is not afraid to work for what he wants. He will work himself to the bone to achieve something if he needs to. In fact, he believes that anything worthwhile is going to be hard to acquire. He has held the same job since he was sixteen, and is actually already a manager. He has a wonderful work-ethic. LIKES Organization Ezra loves it when everything and everyone has a place and function. It calms him down and just makes him feel better in general. He can’t stand it when people seem to be milling around without a purpose, nor can he stand it when things are strewn around. He hates knick-knacks and things that just take up space without a use. Feeling Accomplished It isn’t very often that Ezra feels accomplished or happy with the things he has done or made. He is always way too critical and can typically find something wrong with whatever he’s done. So on those rare occasions where he does something perfectly (like making a 100 overall in a class) he makes sure to enjoy it. Helping People Ezra loves going out of his way to be there for people and to help them. It tends to give him a feeling of accomplishment that he can’t otherwise get. Making a sad person smile, helping someone clean their room, helping someone pass a test – these are things he loves to do. Relationships Ezra absolutely adores being in a relationship. Even though he tends to be devastated when it ends, he loves spoiling someone and the process of getting to know them. It also makes him feel as though he has a very certain place in someone’s life which gives him comfort. Storms Ezra really likes storms. The more lightning, the louder the thunder, the better. They relax him quite a bit, and they’re one of the only times when he can just lay on his bed and chill out a bit. | NEGATIVE Perfectionist Ezra believes that things have to be perfect, he even expects it of people – though he isn’t conscious of this fact. His side of the dorm is always spotless, his bed is always made a certain way each morning, and each of his possessions has its own place where it has to be unless he is using it. It’s all he can do, really, not to clean his roommate’s side of the dorm. Pessimistic Despite the fact that Ezra expects everyone to work their hardest and do their best, he never expects this to be enough. He goes into every fight expecting to lose, and he goes into every day expecting the worst to happen. It’s a defensive mechanism, really. He’s been disappointed so many times that he simply can’t allow himself to be hopeful anymore. If he expects the worst, anything better than the worst, will seem like a good thing. Overcritical Ezra is overly critical of everything he does, everything everyone else does, and everything around him. If it is less than perfect, it isn’t good enough. He expects people to work to better themselves to his standards, and he gets rather twitchy when he’s in a room that isn’t up to his organizational and cleaning standards. Ruthless Ezra doesn’t know how or when to stop, he doesn’t know when to call it, and he can’t recognize a hopeless situation. He will work until he passes out or dies, and he will push everyone who is on his team or his side to do so as well. He doesn’t even realize he’s doing it until after everything is said and done and he looks at the mess he’s made. Grumpy Ezra is a pretty grumpy person. He never gets enough sleep, and this tends to rub off on his attitude. He’s bad to snap at people, and he’s bad to have a sulky or pissy look on his face. He tends to be put into a bad mood very easily, though it’s easy enough to bring him out of it as well. DISLIKES Laziness Ezra cannot stand to see someone be lazy. He hates when people sleep too much or sleep too late, he hates it when people don’t do their homework, he hates it when people are unemployed. He expects everyone to be able to manage their time as well as he does, so his definition of laziness is rather extreme. Either way, he can’t deal with it. The Dark Ezra is actually pretty phobic of the dark, and while he can deal with it to a certain extent, he certainly doesn’t like it. He even has a nightlight in his dorm and he won’t be out after dark if he can help it. Unless it’s in a well-lit area, of course. Flippant People Ezra will straight up call someone out for being flippant. He gets upset at people who have the sort of attitude where they don’t care about anything. He feels like everyone should be passionate about something, and everyone should care about their future and education. Messes Walking into a messy room or seeing a mess tends to make Ezra rather twitchy. While he realizes that it is rude, it’s all he can do to stop himself from cleaning up after everyone. If he has enough time he’ll even collect the loose papers on the ground after his classes and throw them away or return them to their owners. He can barely stand to see the cafeteria after lunch. Whining Absolutely nothing will piss Ezra off faster than a whiny person. As far as he’s concerned, whining accomplishes nothing. Shut your damn mouth and do something about it if you’re so upset. |
HISTORY Ezra Gavriel Lazarus is the second-born son to a pair of wealthy and affluent individuals. Both his mother and father’s families come from old money, and no one has really had to work in either family for generations. Despite that, a strong work ethic was always instilled in the people on his father’s side, and he made sure to pass this along to his children. Ezra’s mother always seemed perfectly happy to go along with whatever his father wanted to do, so even though her family was much lazier, she worked to turn her children into hard workers as well. Even as a young child, though, Ezra always felt as though he lived in his elder brother’s shadow. The older boy seemed to be a natural at everything he did whereas Ezra had to work much harder. His brother was only two years older than him, but he stayed ahead of him in everything. If Ezra wanted to make good grades, he had to study and work hard. His brother could study for five minutes and make an A with ease. Not only that, but being the second-born son basically ensured that he wouldn’t be inheriting his father’s business. Therefore his father tended to spend more time with his brother while he groomed him to take over the family someday. Ezra did everything he could to get his father’s attention, and while the man wasn’t really cruel, he always seemed distracted. He would pat Ezra on the head for making an A and then take his older brother off to teach him something else. Ezra was rarely included, and instead turned to his two younger siblings for attention. They were only a couple of years younger than him, so by the time he was eight he was able to drag them along with him and play with them. Whenever the elder Lazarus child expressed interest in playing, Ezra would include him. He couldn’t bring himself to be cruel to his brother, no matter what. As he grew older, though, Ezra seemed to pull away from his siblings quite a bit. He threw himself into everything he could to try and get his father’s attention, and it was really all he could do to finish his homework each night, forget playing along with his siblings. His work ethic did eventually catch his father’s attention, though, and when the man praised him it only reinforced the unhealthy habits and expectations he had begun putting on himself. When he was fourteen his parents would send him off to Blackwood Academy. His elder brother had already been there for two years, and he already had big shoes to fill. He worked his hardest to fill them, the distance from his father didn’t seem to change his work ethic at all. In fact, things seemed to get worse. He rarely got enough sleep, and almost always seemed to be a walking zombie. Despite that, he was always willing to help people out and made several friends. As he continued his schooling he seemed to have several relationships, though none of them lasted more than three months. Maybe he was too overbearing, maybe he expected too much of his partners, but no one seemed to stick around. Very rarely did he tend to break up with anyone. He kept up his good grades and got involved in everything he had time for. He still hasn’t managed to find his sacrifice though, but hopefully that will happen sometime soon. |
OTHER -- Still has his ears and tail.
