FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
What is this ear/tail thing?
In the world of loveless, ears and tail- generally those of a dog or cat- symbolize someone's VIRGINITY. Much like an animal's ears or tail, they can be moved and often portray one's emotions. Upon having sex for the first time, they are shed within twenty-four hours, much like how baby teeth fall out of one's mouth.
Due to a fear of being judged, younger people who no longer have their ears and tail occasionally purchase fakes and wear them around in order to ensure no one knows.
How does a fighter or sacrifice learn what they are?
Within blackwood academy, most often they find out upon entering the academy. However, others learn by meeting their partner and finding their true name upon their skin.
When does a fighter or sacrifice meet their partner?
At Blackwood, teams tend to be introduced to each other sometime between the second semester of their freshman year and the second semester of their sophomore year. However, sometimes it takes longer to get a hold of their chosen partner, sometimes they end up finding each other before their predestined meeting, or sometimes either party can be uncooperative in meeting their teammate.
Do we choose our characters' true names/teammate?
At Threads&Wires, the staff prefers to pair you up and give your team a name ourselves, adding to the mystery for you and giving you a chance to interact with people you might not otherwise get a chance to roleplay with. However, if you already have a team name and partner picked out for your character before creation, you may place your team name in the 'team name' section of your application and a note of who your partner is to be in the 'other' section. By doing this, we can ensure that people get paired up quickly and that we don't have a lot of people without a teammate wandering around the academy.
Do mundanes know about true names/ spell battles/fighters/sacrifices?
Mundane Students, unless told by another character who knows about these things In character cannot know. Mundane Teachers only know that certain students have a special curriculum and that certain students should be graded harder than others, unless told otherwise in character. Researchers, as their field of study at blackwood is the world of spell battles, tend to know about as much as the people who participate them, if not more in a quantitative sense.
