PERSONALITY |
POSITIVE Charming When she feels like it, Riley knows how to be a very charming person. She knows what to say to flatter people, when to smile, when to be sympathetic, etc. She can easily win people over with a few well-placed words. Unless she just dislikes the person she’s talking to she just seems to be naturally charming and easy enough to get along with. Extroverted Riley loves being around people, she gets her energy from it. She doesn’t mind if the person is friendly or rude, just interacting with a person seems to liven her up and make her happy. She doesn’t mind arguing or just gossiping; as long as the person is holding her attention in some way. Open Minded Riley is a very open-minded person. As long as someone isn’t hurting her or the people she cares about, she feels like they have the right to do what they want. Sleep around? Sure. Date three or four people at once? Sure. Date someone twice their age? Sure. Date your own brother? Well, she wouldn’t, but she doesn’t care if you do. She doesn’t feel like anyone has the right to judge other people. Warm Hearted Even though she tries to keep this trait hidden, Riley is a very warm hearted person. She likes people in general, and can be rather empathetic a lot of the time. She doesn’t let people in willingly, but she isn’t really cold to people unless they’re just pushing all of her buttons wrong or trying to force themselves on her. Confident As far as her looks go, Riley is a very confident person. She knows that she’s pretty and attractive, and she isn’t going to play it down or act humble about it when she really isn’t. She doesn’t need other people to tell her that she’s pretty (though it is appreciated). LIKES Food Even though she doesn’t look it (because she works it off through cheerleading, soccer, and archery), this girl absolutely loves food. Any kind of food, it doesn’t matter. If she’s eating, she’s happy. And if she shares her food with you, then that means she’s starting to care about you – because she’ll literally bite most people’s fingers off for trying to take her food. Fashion Riley loves anything to do with fashion. She loves clothes, she loves dressing up, she loves dressing other people (especially males) up. She likes watching shows about fashion, she likes fashion magazines. She loves shopping. Just clothes. Just give her clothes. Night's Out Riley hates spending nights in (especially on the weekend). She feels like she should constantly be doing something. She hates just sitting around. Even if she’s spending a night in she likes to have people over so they can gossip and watch movies or just anything, really. She’ll do basically whatever. Being Spoiled Riley loves it when people spoil her, and she is actually really appreciative of it. It could be something as simple as carrying her books to class for her or as complex as taking her out to a fancy dinner, she loves it. Sports Despite being rather girly, Riley loves sports. She likes playing sports, and she likes watching them. She doesn’t get quite as into watching them as some people do, but she can enjoy it when she decides to do it. She really enjoys playing more than watching, though. | NEGATIVE Coward Riley gets scared easily, and she’s scared of just about everything. She’s not going to face up to her fears, and rather tends to run away from them. She’s the most afraid of getting close to other people, of giving people the power to hurt her. She isn’t brave by any means, and it becomes obvious when she’s placed under stress or pressure. Commitment Issues Riley doesn’t like to commit to anything. Be a person, a job, or even an ideal. She doesn’t like the thought of being tied down. What if something better comes along? She feels like she should be able to chase after what she wants without worrying about hurting other people, so therefore she shies away from making commitments. Flirtatious Riley is a very flirtatious person. She’ll flirt with just about anyone. Usually it means she wants to sleep with you, but if you’re someone who gets flustered by she’ll do it for shits and giggles too. She’s so flirty that most of the time she doesn’t even realize she’s flirting with someone. Vain Riley can be very full of herself, if you can’t tell by this point. It goes beyond being confident. She’s so concerned about her looks that she wakes up with at least an hour to get ready each morning. All of her aesthetics have to be perfect, and when they are she isn’t afraid to admire them. Weak Both physically and mentally, Riley is a very weak person. It doesn’t take much to beat her into the dirt or beat unconscious, and it doesn’t take much to break her down mentally. For all of her confidence in her looks, she hates the way she is. If you can find something that she dislikes about herself, a few well-placed words are going to shake her. DISLIKES Clinginess Riley hates it when people get clingy. She doesn’t appreciate being tied down in any way, and she will shut your ass down if you try it. She can’t stand it when people want to be around her all the time. She needs breaks from people, she can’t be around the same person all day every day. Or, she hasn’t met someone like that yet. Crying Riley doesn’t mind when other people cry, she’s actually very good at comforting people and she will comfort anyone without a second thought. However, she hates it when she cries. She will literally do anything to keep from crying, even when she’s alone. Snobs Riley hates people who think that they’re better than everyone else, or people who won’t talk to her without a good reason. While she might be vain, she actually recognizes beauty and worth in other people. She gets very upset when people refuse to accept the fact that everyone is beautiful in some way, and everyone is better than them at something. Being Unmasked Riley wears a mask all the time – a mask that says she doesn’t care and she doesn’t have negative emotions like other people. She’s always smiley and happy, or she’s always ready to fight with you. She doesn’t like it when other people realize that she’s weak, or when she’s put in situations that make it obvious. She will absolutely deny it ever happened afterward, as well. Being Judged Riley hates it when other people judge her for sleeping around. It isn’t any of their business what she does with her body, and it doesn’t make her less of a person than them. She doesn’t judge them, and they shouldn’t judge her. |
HISTORY Riley Sophia Bates was born on a cold day in Seattle, Washington. Her father and mother were an unlikely pair – and unmarried. Her mother was a bit of a junkie, a thief, and she had definitely been around the block several times. Her father was a cop. By all rights, he should have arrested her mother and sent her to prison – but love and other things do strange things to people. He convinced himself he could help the woman, and she would be better for it. He was wrong. She never wanted to get pregnant, and she was basically only using him. When she found herself pregnant, she didn’t even consider stopping her drug use. Thankfully, Riley’s father sent her off to some kind rehab for the duration of her pregnancy so there was no way she could have access to the drugs. She hated him for it. As soon as Riley was born and she was released – she left. She didn’t even stay to look at the daughter who looked so much like her, nor did she have any part in naming the young girl. Jason was left on his own with a squalling baby, and he knew nothing about babies. He reached out to his family for help, but they were all stuck up on the fact that Riley probably wasn’t even really his daughter. He felt sick at the thought of getting a paternity test, but it was the only way he could gain his family’s support. When the test came back positive, they begrudgingly agreed to babysit Riley while he was at work. The little girl never really knew love or warmth. No one, not even her father, was overly affectionate with her. Really, her father didn’t mean to be so distant. He loved his little girl and he always had, he just didn’t really know how to express this. When Riley was around four, he decided that she needed a mother. Mary worked as a secretary at the police department, and she had always been dropping hints. He brought her into their lives rather quickly, but Riley had no interest in the woman. He was sure she would warm up to her soon enough, though, and the two were married not even six months later. She was pregnant within the next month, and Riley still didn’t want anything to do with her. She had been perfectly happy when it was only her and Daddy, she didn’t want this new woman and her new baby. She began to withdraw into herself, and when she started school, she turned to her peers for affection and attention. When the new baby was born, Mary and her father were very distracted with him. This caused Riley to resent him quite a bit. He and Mary had no right! They just came in and destroyed everything. Everything had been so much better before them. Her father would hear none of it, though. He insisted she needed a mother, even if it was a mother she didn’t like. As the years passed, Riley was brutally cruel to her younger brother. She would break his toys, shove him down, and basically take any steps she could to make his life a living hell. This turned Mary against her completely, and caused fights between the woman and her father. By the time she was graduating from middle school, her father’s marriage was in shambles and her brother was absolutely terrified of her. However, something would happen that would almost be a saving grace for the family that she felt so excluded from. Her father was contacted by a school that was willing to offer Riley a scholarship. Everyone was rather shocked. Riley had always had average grades, and while she had been involved in cheerleading for a long time, that didn’t seem to have anything to do with the scholarship. Mary was obviously all for sending her, and Jason saw it as a great opportunity for her. The girl basically saw it as them getting rid of her, and she became more bitter, but she attended the school anyway. Despite how bitter she felt on the inside, she was as warm and friendly as ever to most people. She went through boyfriends and girlfriends like sweaters, never staying with one person for more than a month. She never allowed herself to get close to anyone, but she had plenty of superficial friends and was popular enough. Her ears were the subject of some debate by the middle of her freshmen year, but they were definitely still real. When she returned home that summer, she refused to have anything to do with her family and basically stayed locked in her room the entire time – or went out with the friends she’d left in Washington. When she returned to school for her sophomore year, she didn’t have her ears for more than a week. There were several people it could have been as far as the gossipers were concerned, but Riley never denied or confirmed any of the rumors. She also found her partner around this time – a boy named Francis. She had actually noticed him several times, despite his odd haircut he was pretty cute, and that was honestly what had made her notice him in the first place. She was rather excited to find that he was her partner, but that excitement wouldn’t last for long. The two didn’t get along at all, and both of them refused to cater to the other’s strengths or make up for their weaknesses. So far, she’s pretty disappointed in her partner, honestly. It’s as much her fault as it is his, though. |
OTHER -- She's paired with Wren Easton. -- Her team-name runs down her ribs. -- She lost her ears and tail toward the beginning of her sophomore year. |
