CAUTERIZE THESE WOUNDS
It was a quiet day, the kind when Reuben was free to spend his time just sitting in his office daydreaming. He had finished most of his paperwork, and thankfully, there weren't any students who had come in just yet. Not just for his own sake (because it meant more work), but also for the students themselves. Nobody never had a good reason to swing by the infirmary, and it wasn't like the nurse had anyone who wanted to keep him company.
Straddling the back of his office chair, he rested his arms on top of the teal backrest and spun himself around, eyes shut in concentration as he went over how to properly make a dry cappuccino again. Then he frowned. Who in the world would want to order a dry cappuccino anyway? What sort of heartless bastard would do that?
Dropping the thought, he spun away from his desk, turning his face to the sun and basking in the light that streamed in. The sky was clear that day, a rare occurrence in the winter, and the brunet sighed, the ears on his head drooping contentedly as he felt himself relax. These were the days when he felt like nothing could go wrong, and it was days like this one that convinced him that maybe the effort he put into seeming so happy-go-lucky was worth all the trouble.
Smiling to himself, Reuben sighed and closed his eyes, before resting his head on his arms. Maybe he'd take a catnap. He had work after school anyway, so it was best he got rested up when he still had the time to. At the rate things were going, today was going to be a good day.
